What this housing confirmation does in address registration, who usually issues it, and which details deserve an early check.
The Wohnungsgeberbestätigung confirms that you moved into an address. It is distinct from a rental contract: the contract records an agreement, while this confirmation records the move-in information used for registration.
Who provides it?
The housing provider completes it. That may be a landlord, property manager, main tenant or another authorised provider depending on the accommodation. If you are subletting, ask early who is responsible rather than assuming the lease alone will be accepted.
Details worth checking
Read the names, address, move-in date and provider details before your appointment. A simple spelling error can create avoidable questions. Do not alter the provider’s statement yourself; ask the issuer to correct it.
What it does not prove
It is not residence permission, a tax decision or evidence that every term of a tenancy is lawful. Those questions sit outside address registration. Consult the current official instructions for your municipality because requirements and procedures can change.
